your money seniors is now available via zoom

Financial literacy is an essential life skill – no matter your age – and it is a life‑long learning experience. Meeting the needs of seniors has always been a priority for banks in Canada and advancing financial literary is an important part of the CBA’s overall mandate.

Whether you are about to retire or have already retired, many senior Canadians face similar questions: Will my money last through retirement? How should I manage my financial affairs if I need physical or other assistance? What scams and frauds should I be aware of? Bankers have a depth of experience working with customers and the Your Money Seniors seminars can help answer these and other important questions.

Your Money Seniors is available at no cost and consists of three, one-hour seminars designed for Canadians 55 and over. The non‑commercial seminars are presented by banker volunteers across Canada who volunteer their time and expertise in their community, and cover three topics:

  • Fraud Prevention – how to identify and protect yourself from frauds and scams targeted at seniors;
  • Financial Abuse – what it is and how to avoid it, with an emphasis on avoiding risks associated with Powers of Attorney and Joint Accounts; and
  • Cash Management – how to prepare yourself financially if you’re in or nearing retirement.

Find out more about the topics each seminar covers through the below links, and submit a seminar request for your seniors’ group. Be sure to follow us on the Your Money Seniors Facebook page too!
