TORONTO – September 26, 2018 - Ten banks have come together to help the Canadian Red Cross provide relief for those affected by tornado damage in the Ottawa and Gatineau regions. Support includes opening branch locations for donations and providing corporate contributions totaling $160,000.
The Red Cross is responding in the aftermath of tornado activity that took place September 21 and has mobilized disaster teams in Gatineau and Ottawa to register impacted people and help provide shelter, relief and comfort. The Red Cross has additional volunteers and supplies pre-positioned and ready to be deployed, if needed.
How Canadians can help
The following banks are accepting customer donations through their branch or online networks from September 27 to October 25:

- Laurentian Bank
- National Bank
- Tangerine - donations can be made online directly from client accounts
- TD Bank Group
