As Group Head, North American Personal & Business Banking at BMO, Ernie Johannson leads a team of 24,000 employees responsible for helping nearly 12 million personal and business banking customers make financial progress. Ms. Johannson’s role supports BMO’s efforts to accelerate growth, building on her passion for empowering winning teams to deliver exceptional customer service and her track record of innovating in a rapidly changing environment.

Ms. Johannson joined BMO in 2012 and has held a range of senior management and executive positions at the bank, including leading U.S. Personal and Business Banking and serving as North American Chief Risk Officer.

Ms. Johannson serves on the board of directors of the U.S. Consumer Bankers Association and previously served on the boards of Payments Canada and Moneris Solutions Corporation and as chair of the Canadian Marketing Association. Prior to joining BMO, she held senior positions at Fidelity Investments and CIBC.
